About Your Tour Guide

He's in this picture somewhere!
You may be wondering who is running this blog?

The answer is William Supko.  You may have seen him running around at Coaster Crew events snapping photos.  Always with the pictures, this guy.

What qualifies him to run this blog, you ask?

William has worked in the amusement industry for close to 15 years.  He has held positions as a ride operator and supervisor at Hersheypark for over 6 years, ran a restaurant at Ski Roundtop for two year and has been photographing amusement park
attractions and event for over 5 years.  He joined Coaster Crew 2 years ago and is one of the many awesome people that share news, events and photos on the Coaster Crew Facebook page.  He also follows many industry blogs and sites as well as a Facebook and Twitter feeds full of industry news.

IT'S THE COASTER CREW!
OMG, that was so much fun!
What was William's first event, you may wonder?

He first met and fell in love with The Coaster Crew July 13, 2012 at Hersheypark (his home park in case you skipped the second question and missed that info).  Rush the Sky was the event.  He came home that night after the event and had close to a dozen new Facebook friend requests from the people he met that day and knew this was the club all the cool kids were in.

He has all this awesome pictures, does he ever ride anything or is he always just stuck behind the lens?

He use to be a thrill junkie, nothing was too tall, too fast or too round (too round, I don't even know what that means) to ride.  Inner ear problems have hindered his riding habits as he got older.  He does a lap or two when he gets a chance but he doesn't marathon anything anymore.

What a bunch of dummies!
Does he have a favorite coaster or two?

His favorite coaster is it at the thrill capital of the world, Cedar Point.  Millennium Force is his first true love.  He realizes it may be cliched because that's everybody's favorite and way to lack originality, but he can't help it.  The rush up the lift, the over banked turns and having the chance to ride it in the front seat shortly after it opened.  So is his second favorite coaster a cliche?  Maybe, it's Storm Runner at Hersheypark.  It's not the tallest, it's not the fastest, but it has a flying snake dive.

What about wood, how does he feel about wood?

Wood is good, he says.  He doesn't have a stand out favorite, he prefers steel, but the Comet at Hersheypark is probably in the top 10.  He may be biased as Hersheypark has spoiled him with three wood coasters.

What is his most favorite coaster memory ever?

His favorite memory was the Great Bear at Hersheypark coming to life.  He watched the ride go over the top of the lift hill for the first time. Also, he was on one of the first trains to leave the station with people on it.  He will probably write that story up in a blog sometime, maybe, he has a foggy memory at times and has attention deficit cupcakes.

What is he going to cover, will there be anything about me?

He will cover everything and anything related to the amusement industry.  New rides, trip reviews, a lot of opinion pieces are just some of the things he'll go over.  He may even keep you up to date on Coaster Crew News.  He may write something about you so pay attention!

How often can we expect updates?

Flying Snake Dive!
Maybe every day, maybe every week, maybe every month, in short we don't know.  During the off season updates may come in every day or two.  Once things kick into high gear he will try for an update (or have a lovely assistant do updates) at least once a week.

I have a question, comment, blog idea, thought, personal question, dirty limerick and/or cool photo to share.  What should I do?

Email him at coastercrewblog@gmail.com!  If you want to be a guest contributor you can also email him there.  He doesn't pay you anything but he may make you a star (of course all Coaster Crew members are stars in there own right). If you want the super secret Dippin' Dots formula and instructions on how to make your own, don't email him there, he doesn't know.

I love, love, love his pictures, I'm just going to go ahead and save them and post them on my blog.  That's okay, right?
