Fun Fact
Did you know The Coaster Crew is about more than just Coasters? Did that just blow your mind? We love tall ride, small rides, fat rides, flat rides, train rides, water rides, and even water slides. Heck, if you put us on a tram that's fast and bumpy enough we love that too!
Now that I got that out of the way . . .
As I sit here and write and write this blog I wonder who I am trying to appeal to. Inspiration hits me at random and from time to time I struggle for blog ideas. Other times I get a crazy idea, like requesting detailed information from a park about light bulb usage, and I wonder two things. First off, am I crazy? The magic eight ball says definitely. Secondly, I
wonder if I get to detailed for the general park enthusiasts. Do people really want to know what kind of effect the phasing out of incandescent lights has on amusement parks (if you do I may soon have just the blog for you). That leads me to ask a question. What kind of enthusiast are you?
The Coaster Crew contains enthusiasts of so many levels. We have those that travel near and far to get on everything they can. We have those that can tell you every intimate detail of how a ride works. We have members that are amusement park employees. Let's break down the ranks and see where you fit in.
Park Geek
Chances are, as you near the platform they will not be listening to what you say. Instead they will be watching every move the ride makes to determine how it works. They may even watch the employees like a hawk to figure who does what. They will be mesmerized. Snapping your fingers may be required to get their attention. They can most likely tell you who designed the ride. They may even be able to tell you what year the ride was brought into the park. They will use technical jargon that you may or may not understand. While doing all this they will share their passion with anyone that is willing to listen.

Park Nerd
Park nerds have all the same characteristics as a park geek but they are introverts. They make note of everything. They love it but they keep it to themselves.

Just Here to Ride People
People that look at you funny when you say the words like Intamin or Chain Dog. They don't care that the ride is 200 feet tall. They don't care what year it was installed. All they care about is how long the wait is and whether or not they'll have time to ride it again.

EBT Fans - Exclusive Bench Time (EBT's) fans are mostly parents or loved ones that come along for the ride. They love to watch their children or significant other run around and ride all things crazy, terrifying, and high in the sky from the safety of a bench near by.

If you attend a Coaster Crew event you will find all of these people and they will be friendly. We love our members so much no matter what level of enthusiasm they share.
