Hiya Crew!
First off we have to give a HUGE thanks to the Knoebel family and park staff for allowing us to participate in this very special day. For those of you that haven't heard, the final
piece of track was set in place yesterday. The last piece, located in the station, was set in place a little after 2:30 PM.

Impulse is a Zierer sit down steel roller coaster with a 98 foot tall lift hill that features four inversions. Each of the three trains will hold two rows of four riders for a total of eight riders. The trains will climb 90 degree lift hill before dropping straight down the 90 foot drop at approximately 55 mph. The train will then travel through a cobra roll, a loop and and in-line twist before twisting through a 540 degree helix and heading into the brake run. This ride packs a lot of punch in a little space.

The ride stands next to the road leading to the parking lot. The bumper boats and boat tag ride were removed at the end of the 2014 season to make room for this new ride. This is not the first looping roller coaster for Knoebels. The Whirlwind, a looping Vekoma roller coaster featuring 2 corkscrews, operated at the park from 1993 to 2004.
There is currently a test train on the track (at the time of the last piece install it was unclear if this was a portion of an un-built car or a special train used for a pull through test). Ride testing is expected to begin next week. The park is hopeful that the ride will be ready to twist, turn and roll on opening day, April 25th.
The test train is ready to roll. |

Until next time.
